All About The Detail

Meet the faces behind the scenes - Lisa & Melissa.

Tell us a little about yourself and what you do.

Bespoke Events CPT started out as two friends with a common passion for all things events. We thrive off the entire process, from the first consultation with clients, the behind the scenes planning and of course the execution on the day. Birthdays, baby showers, corporate events or simply a family gathering we’ve got you covered with all your planning, styling and setup needs.

How old is your business now?

Our business is a little over a year old.

How did you come up with the idea of and name for your business?

Both of us always had the goal of owning our own events company. The definition of Bespoke is “made for a particular customer” and we’re all about the detail!

What is that “one thing” that this Lockdown period has taught you and that you will be using in the future? How will you be doing business differently?

Adaptation to change. Lockdown has really hit us hard as an events company, our business thrives off gatherings and celebrations, with that having been taken away, we were forced to adapt to the climate and think of an alternative service offering to keep our business afloat. With that came our 'grazing boxes' and is now a permanent service we offer!

What makes your business unique?

Definitely the attention to detail and the client relationships we foster.

Are you a solo-entrepreneur or how many members does your team currently comprise?

We’re just the two of us at the moment; we hope to expand the team in the next year or two.

How do you market your business, and which methods have been most successful for you?

We have been lucky to get most of our business through word of mouth, but we have also focused on putting a lot of effort into our social media as it is indeed the future.

What does a typical day look like for you? And how many hours, on average, do you work daily?

For me, I work a 9-5 regular job and have a passion project as well besides Bespoke Events. So my day usually begins with some quiet time to get myself in the correct head-space for the day ahead. Sometimes we have grazing box orders to push out so that is done before I head to my day job. Once I get home I dive straight into some Bespoke admin usually and allocate some time to my passion project.

How has being an entrepreneur affected your life?

It has been an adjustment, I’ve had to learn how to balance everything but overall it has made me always have the bigger picture insight.

If you could go back in time and start up your business all over again, what would you do differently?

Find a mentor definitely (haha), no one tells you how much work having your own business is, it is not all that glamorous but definitely worth it!

What is one piece of advice you’d like to give to someone just starting out?

JUST DO IT. Forget about the ifs and buts, if you’re passionate about what you do, you never work a day in your life.
